Welcome,
viewers!
My name, Gregor
Alun McLennan, embraces my ethnic extraction, that
being very much one of Anglo-Saxon or Celtic origin.
Now living in Wellington
with wife (May-Ana Tirikatene-Sullivan) and daughter
(Hunter Mercedes Tirikatene-McLennan, born Feb 21,
2007), it was in Auckland where I underwent extensive
study to become a professional actor. It is a return
to my origins as I was formerly raised in the suburb
of Linden up the motorway from the capital, from
the ages of 0 - 12 years, before the family became
ensconced in Dunedin (my age 12 - 24 years). I resided
in Auckland from the ages of 24 - 36 years.
Following my attendance
at Otago Boys' High School in Dunedin, I studied
at the University of Otago from 1988-92, obtaining
a degree in Physical Education and progressing through
two-thirds of an Arts degree (majoring in Education).
My parents, Ross and
Geraldine, are true Dunedinites, having run an accommodation
business from home since the early nineties. My father
is a retired policeman, my mother a current employee
at the University's Quality Advancement unit. My
sister, Jeannie, and her family shifted from Auckland
in 2002, as did my younger brother, Rob, and his
family from Sydney late in 2005. My older brother,
Jamie, resides in Melbourne. Suffice to say, I visit
Dunedin frequently! Rob, indeed, constructed this
very web page!
Among my interests
and passions, the fact I was an age-grade representative
cricketer underscores a continued zeal for sports
generally. Regarding the arts, I have an eclectic
taste in music, a strong appetite for film, theatre,
reading, music and writing, as well as dance. Not
having shied away from the occasional Salsa class
(one of the characters I portrayed was of the very
kind) and discotheque opportunities, I also wish
to follow up on preliminary night class forays into
the study of languages (Spanish, Portuguese, Italian,
German, Russian...). Yours truly admits to seeing
the karaoke arena as a valid entree into the world
of song. Additionally, I continue to hone various
American, British and European dialects.
As an actor, I enjoy
the respective disciplines of stage and screen mediums
and relish the opportunity to flex my creative muscle
in either, so as to challenge and reinforce the integrity
of my craft to the greatest extent possible.
Thanks for taking
a look,
Gregor.
